3. Hey, kids in the south don't go to college to get an education
They develop relationships which eventually lead to them voting for republicans in large numbers. There is a direct correlation between one's education and how one votes. The greater the knowledge, the less chance one votes for a conservative.

4. The new ACC is 2nd to none!
The SEC always does well in football, and this year was no exception, http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/polls/2003/bcs

but,....with FSU, Miami, & Virginia Tech, not to mention Maryland, Virginia, GT, NCS, BC, we cede nothing to no one,...

And there are other sports besides football.

Go Big Ten and Go Hawks. 20-7 at halftime, but a long way to go.

6. And best stadiums?
Don't buy that or best fans. The Hawkeyes have nearly as many people at the Outback bowl today as Florida and the game is 130 miles from the Florida campus. And how many SEC stadiums seat over 100,000 people? Big Ten takes that catagory without question.

8. Pointing out facts
What makes the SEC stadiums better? Didnt give any facts to back it up. Is it that they are small and old? Plus, at Iowa Kinnick's stadium will be $90 to $110 million dollars better in the next three years and it is already voted one of the best stadiums in the nation by ESPN.

Go Hawks!

9. yes, go hawks, indeed!
that would take some wind out of the SEC's sails.

But, alas, I cannot root for Iowa, I lived in Florida 2nd-10th grade, used to go see Spurrier play.

Go Gators!

13. Some SEC stadiums...
Neyland Stadium at the University of Tennessee:
http://utsports.ocsn.com/genrel/081001aaa.html

Rated as Sporting News's Top College Stadium in America 2001
Is third-largest college stadium in America:
1: Michigan Stadium, University of Michigan, 107,501
2: Beaver Stadium, Penn State, 106,537
3: Neyland Stadium, University of Tennessee, 104,079
Last construction completed in 2000.
Needs to be larger, is sold out every game

University of Alabama: Bryant-Denny Stadium
Capacity: 83,818

University of Arkansas: Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium
Capacity: 72,000
Has largest video screen in the world (107' w x 30' h)

Auburn University: Jordan-Hare Stadium
Capacity: 86,063

University of Florida: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, aka "The Swamp"
Capacity: 88,548

University of Georgia: Sanford Stadium
Capacity: 92,058 (fifth largest stadium in the US)

FedEx Field, Washington, DC (largest stadium in the NFL)
Capacity: 85,000

I didn't check all the SEC football stadium websites, but every stadium I saw is large enough, and nice enough, that you could drop an NFL team in there and they'd be happy.

18. I didn't realize it was the biggest video screen,
but I know that the jumbotron at Razorback Stadium is freakin' huge. You can watch it and make out letters on it from I-540. Wish the stadium seated more though.

10. There's a reason for that.
For Iowa to beat Florida is a big deal to Iowa's football program.

Florida could care less. I mean, it's only Iowa. Who cares?

16. The Best Conference in the Country is . . .
whichever one your favorite team plays in. The best stadium is the one your favorite team plays in.

19. exactly... for example we all KNOW that the best
basketball arena - the one opposing teams hate playing in - is Assembly Hall in Bloomington, IN. Right? ;-) At least that is right if you live within a 100 mile radius of Bloomington...

21. No, the best basketball arena is Cameron Indoor Stadium
at Duke.

I like it best because of the Cameron Crazies, the student rooting section.

20. Not quite
I like Tennessee's stadium better than Florida State's.

OTOH, I like FSU's team better than Tennessee's.

And my favorite conference is still the Big West (home of the University of Idaho), even though Big West football teams are horrible.
