HELP!!!! My cat is clinically insane and it's driving me bonkers!!!!!

I have not slept one wink last night thanks to my damn cat. He's going from window to window in my apartment sniffing real heavily at the opening (my windows are opened, screens are in though - my apartment will get too hot if I close them) and he's howling like there's no tomorrow.

Oh and he's not fixed yet; that's scheduled on Jan 16th.

There are several feral cats that live in the apartment complex. Please just tell me he's smelling one in heat and it's driving him nuts and this will go away once I fix him. He's not even meowing, he's howling like he's nuts. He's always slept on the window sills but I've never seen him like this at all.

I can't live with an animal that will be going bonkers like this!!! I've gotten no sleep last night whatsoever. Please someone tell me he's just horny and getting him fixed will solve the problem.

I've always had cats, and only one un-neutered male. That lased one day, when he smelled another in heat, I had him fixed the next day. Problem will be solved. Cats ought to be fixed before they reach maturity, but after works too. Give the guy a break though, I've lost sleep thinking about a gal a few time myself/ get him fixed sooner if you can.

I'd bet quite a lot that your problem will disappear once he's fixed. He is exhibiting the classic symptoms of a male that wants that FEMALE. NOW! ArrrrOOOOOOOOOO!!

for the hormones to clear out of his system after you get him fixed.

When I had TB fixed, he still acted like a full-fledged tomcat for about six weeks.

6. I can sympathize

When I first got one of my cats his hormones were rampaging and he had been terribly abused. He was so hostile that the vet prescribed Valium for him. I had him fixed and it took a few weeks, but he calmed down. After a couple of years of quiet stability and love, he is a sweet and very happy cat.

8. I've been sleep deprived most of the last week thanks to a cat.

We took in an 18 year old cat that my dad could no longer care for. She has a parasite so we have to keep her separated from our cats until we get it cleared up.

She spends the entire night howling at the top of her lungs. I think she is part Siamese because she has a very expressive and loud voice.

I've tried leaving a light on, a radio playing and even setup a cot for me to sleep in her room to see if she was just lonely, but nothing works. She'll curl up beside me as long as I pet her but as soon as I dose off, she starts to howl.

I'm at my wits end over this. She is a sweet cat but I need sleep. We took her in because no one else in the family could.
