Anybody like S-T-R-O-N-G coffee? "Cafe Bustelo" is the one!

I have found a great Columbian canned coffee at Winn-Dixie. It is normally $2.99 a can, but I often find it on sale for $1.79 a can. It reminds me of a strong, dark-roast African Sunani. Cafe Bustelo touts itself as being "dark roast, special for espresso coffee." Yep.

BTW: I just like it. I don't own any stock in the company.

1. I've used Cafe Bustelo before, and it's pretty damn strong!

I'm partial to Lavazza and Illy but I'll have to check Bustelo out again-it's way cheaper!

In Houston, that's just about everywhere. I bet it can be found in Vegas.

At least it was in Miami. That's that thick, ultra sweet syrupy stuff.
Drink that and it's instant speed.

9. It's good for espresso

Dark roasts, have a stronger flavor, to be sure, but strong coffe can be achieved by grinding any decent bean enough _and_ using the proper amount of coffee in the drip.

(I buy Columbian beans and grind myself for daily coffee, occasionally I'll splurge on something richer...)

I think. It says espresso right on the can.
Half Bustelo/Half milk and some sugar and you've got about as close to Cuban coffee as it gets in the States without going to a coffee stand in Miami.

11. I like Cafe Bustelo brewed like regular coffee ...

... with cream and five turbinado sugar cubes per large mug. Best sipped in front of an early morning fire with a Bach CD or record playing and DU on the screen.

13. I bought it on sale once

Local supermarket had it on sale for $1.00 a can or something ridiculous like that and I bought the entire stock. Friends thought I was a survivalist because an entire wall was nothing but stacked cans of vacuum-sealed Bustelo.

I have yet to find fair trade coffee that wasn't flavored or just didn't suck.

15. I love that stuff.

I use it for Cuban coffee. One cup and I'm pretty much good to go. Use it on occasion for Turkish coffee, too, since it's got the ultra-fine grind that Turkish coffee requires...I just add sugar, cinnamon and a couple of cardamom pods and make it in a pot on the stove.

I use Cafe Bustelo to make my espresso mocha just about every morning.
