1. Coz they don't play her where we tune in.

She was big on the country charts when I was listening to it back then so you would hear her mostly on commercial radio. Her album "Aces" is pretty dang good. I bought it then and would still recommend it very highly. She, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Kathy Mattea are still among some of my favorite singers even though I haven't kept up with them, except for a little MCC.
