2. From watching his on-field interview
and his emotions last night towards the end of the game it don't look like it to me. If he does retire it won't be because his talents have diminished.

3. He's having ankle surgery today, IIRC.
I think a lot will depend on how well the procedure goes.

4. The Bears were incredibly smart!
By playing Grossman and allowing him to suck as usual, the Bears convinced Favre that he still has it, now Breet will return and play next season. This will induce the following effects:

Aaron Rodgers will get little playing time.
Favre will hit the wall and really stink ala his performance at the end of 2005.
Ahman Green will be resigned for 3-4 years.

Green is about to hit the runningback wall of 30. He will enter an Edgar Bennett, Dorsey Levens decline. The Packers will also not draft another QB in the April 2007 draft. So, they will stick their futures on Rodgers. When Favre stinks in 2007, they will be stuck with Rodgers for 2008 and since Rodgers can't play they will then need to take another new QB for 2009, who will take 2-3 years development time.

In the intervening years AJ Hawk will become the next Dan Morgan of Carolina (i.e. really good but always hurt), Charles Woodson will retire, KBG will be allowed to leave via Free Agency and the end result will be the Packers will not be able to field a good team until at least 2011 or 2012!!!!!!!!
