Oh MY GOD. That was AWESOME! He flew off of the Oklahoma float and then down the parade route about 50 yards.

I didn't know that there was such a thing as a rocket pack. Swear, his rocket pack looked just like the one on Gilligan's Island.

That was the coolest thing ever. I want one!

2. I am watching the travel channel, I think.
The remote's across the room and I'm too sleepy to walk over there and pick it up to hit the info button to see what channel I'm watching.

It says "encore presentation" in the top right corner of the screen. Are you watching it now?

That was really cool. Really cool. And that guy was quite easy on the eyes, too.

:D

3. I watched it twice this morning
on KTLA.

Bob Eubanks (of Newlywed Game fame) does the local "play by play" and he is so over the top sometimes that it is comical.

5. It was great!

That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in the
Rose Parade, ever.

Did anyone notice how much time George Lucas spent talking
with the rocketman and shaking his hand during the parade?

Hmmm-- may he offered him a role in an upcoming Lucas production?

Just saying---

Btw, I saw it on KTLA too. Eubanks is really great, although I miss Stephanie
Edwards his former co-host for 15+ years. The new lady that filled in for her
( I forget the name) did a great job, though.

7. I didn't notice Lucas talking to him.
I wonder how many people can fly that thing...Eubanks said that only "several people" are qualified to do so.

Yeah, I agree with you...the coolest thing ever in the Rose Bowl parade.

8. For sure!

Yep, Rocketman walked over to the Grand Marshall's car to shake
his hand. Lucas kept talking, gesturing and gave him a " we'll talk later"
sign before they parted.

Lucas is very enterprising, no doubt he has something in
mind for an upcoming movie.

We haven't seen the last of rocketman---

:D :hi:

6. I saw it too
I couldn't stop saying to my partner, "That is SO COOL! I want one!"

I simply must have one. It is the coolest thing ever.

Forget going back to the moon or sending civillians into outer space, get me a personal rocket pack.

9. Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man

11. yes, that was a WOW moment. I love the Rose Parade
anyway. All the Star WArs stuff was way cool, too.

and my two most favorite marching bands, like in Rose Bowl Parades of old. USC Marching Trojans and the Michigan Marching Band. Great marching/fight songs, great bands.

And how about that Michigan band anyway:

Off to California, rehearse half time, etc.
March 5 miles in the morning
Half time show at the Gamr
Back in Michigan to great President Ford's Funeral Entourage with the Michigan Fight Song at the airport.

What a whirlwind week!

I say Hail! to Michigan. (the band)

12. Another great moment was the Honda float with the fire-breathing dragons. Oh, and the
people holding up the "IMPEACH" banner was another highlight...
