Not as serious as a waist trainer but it laces.

:hi:

7. Sorry, but is a "waist trainer"?

It sounds might uncomfortable.

And how come so many people here know what it is, but I don't?

13. Waist training or tightlacing is slowly lacing your corset so your figure gets slimmer
and curvier (hourglass shaped).

anything tighter than 4" under your starting measure is tightlacing.

18. Oh geez, no wonder I don't know what it is.

I'm already so hourglass shaped it's laughable. Seriously. I look like a freakin' insect, I do. And trying to find clothes that fit? Oy!

Though I do think it would be rather hilarious to whip one of them things on me and lace it up good-n-tight, and get my waist down to like, seven inches in circumference.

8. Corset, yes. Waist trainer, no.
I think of my corsets more as a sexy way to hold up the old fashioned hose with the seam up the back (hottest thing ever!) than as something intended to alter my silhouette.

9. I wore a back brace that laced up like a corset, for 8 years. No way
I'm doing that voluntarily. Ever again.

10. I have a couple of corsets
and a bustier, but I've not gotten into waist training. I'd like to though now that I've lost a lot of weight.

14. yeah but afraid to say any more about it
the last time i posted on this subject i was excoriated by those who were firmly convinced that a simple foundation garment could ruin my health and bring down western civilization

it works if you stick with it, there is a reason why women back in the day when corsets were worn regularly were shaped differently from women today

i think you have to be motivated but if you are, it works

good luck

25. I LOVE corsets.
But I'm not intersted in permanently altering my shape. I have one beautiful handmade corset that cost around $400 - I don't wear it much (ever, now really) because for one, I don't have anyone to lace me up and two because the stitching on one of the seams is coming loose and I am afraid to ruin it.

I love corsets because they feel INCREDIBLE on my very screwed up back, and they are sexy as hell. ;)
