I have the most spoiled dog in the world.
There is no longer any furniture he isn't allowed on,(although there is some of his furniture I'm not allowed on). I do more dog laundry than human laundry. I cook for him. I drive long distances to take him to the woods or to parks where he can socialize. He gets real meat with his meals almost every day. He only drinks rainwater...

Do you know of any dogs more spoiled than this?

1. We're dog-sitting a dog right now...
And TRYing to keep her and her muddy paws OFF the furniture!! I've taken to putting magazines on the sofas and loveseat, although a few are starting to look suspiciously wrinkled, and she was caught in an armchair. :eyes: If anybody has a strategy for this, do tell. (I'm a cat person.)

3. For a pet that's used to being on furnitrure and is able to get onto it
without help- you might actually have to use furniture to keep them off- lay a kitchen chair down on the sofa.

If they are allowed to do something in their own home they think they can do it anywhere.

7 years ago my dog got cancer and I was told he had 6 weeks to live. So he was granted "cancer privileges" which meant complete access to furniture. He got good treatment and survived. But the cancer priviliges turned out to be irrevocable.

15. Try Aluminum foil
They don't like the texture or sound. My Golden's probably wouldn't care though. They've always had couch, chair, bed, privileges.

2. Not exactly. But in my case, since we decided the dog is not allowed
on the couch or bed, we sometimes nap on the floor with him.

I don't know if that makes him spoiled or us demented.

4. Well, its kinda sweet.
I put a pile of clean laundry on the end of my dog's loveseat and he pushed it all onto the floor when I was out of the room.

5. If I were single, the pup would certainly sleep in my bed and couch.
I don't meam that I want him to but my partner doesn't. We both love cuddling up with him, but neither of us thinks we need yet another body in either place.

6. My dog Emma
Is slowly taking over the house, one piece of furniture at a time. It's my fault. For almost 6 years she wasn't allowed on the furniture. But one day when I was feeling quite low and I needed a snuggle, I let her up on the couch with me and we slept. Since then, she has taken over that couch (oddly not the other ones), my bed (well it's not my bed anymore), and my kids beds. She's a snuggler alright.

9. That's how it happens, one piece at a time.
My furniture is 15 years old and the dog is 14. So in the beginning he didn't get on anything at all. Then one day he had a runny nose and I felt sorry for him so I covered the loveseat with an old quilt and- its been his ever since.

The thing is- I can't get new furniture till he's gone and I want him to live forever. Old dog, old furniture is my lot in life.

7. Mine are pretty spoiled
Yours sounds pretty happy with the relationship. I liked your post about how he got these special perks.

Rainwater...that's pretty good! You have a collection system or something? I should try that.

8. He has a bowl inside with tap water or even distilled water
but I have buckets by the gutters collecting rainwater for my orchids. He has an outside bowl which might also collect precipitation. Well, when he gets up in the morning he's thirsty. Instead of heading for his inside bowl, he goes to the back door and when I let him out he goes for the rainwater.

I guess if he's home alone and thirsty enough he'll drink the inside stuff but I have a feeling his nose is sensitive to the smell of the different kinds of water and he likes the rainwater smell the best.

Several years ago. Two were creams, two blues, and a black. I actually had more dogs than that then.

14. Ahhh.
I have a spoiled chow - sleeps on the couch. Everyone's afraid of him, because of their rep. Those that know him know he's a big teddy bear.

16. my doggies are pretty spoiled too
I too take them on car rides because Thor just loves drooling all over the car. He's already destroyed a couch set that I'm still paying off. Crystal, my other dog, chewed some huge holes in the material for the new couches. Thor started peeing on the new couches but I now understand that he has formed this nasty habit and we have to break it by using a scat mat. He has also ruined a few good shoes. He gets cookies (dog treats) for no good reason except that he is just standing there. He has his own special chair. When I cook, they get too eat too and I call him puppy. He's going on four years old. Lord help us.

Wish they'd give free doggie drugs instead of just treats.

sleeps in my bed with me (actually sprawls diagonally leaving me awkward sleeping positions), goes to the park daily, cookies whenever she wants (or chewies).....I've even broke up with one girl because she was jealous of my Haley.

Here she is napping on my bed...

Fortunately both my dogs are not big enough to take up
too much space. They are compact models.
