4. I agree 100%. I HATE coming home!

But here's some perspective: I was scheduled to be off all last week and spend New Years at my friends Architectural Digest-type beach house (enjoying our unusually mild winter weather)

But my dad ended up in the hospital (nothing terminal or terrifying), so I spent 4 hours each day driving my mother to the hospital, hanging out at the hospital, shampooing his hair, driving my mother home, keeping my mother calm etc. I felt sorry for myself for missing my long-awaited time off, but this is the man who sat in way too many bathrooms on too many nights with a hot shower running and a croupy kid on his lap, so of course I'm there and damned cheerful about it.

So keep in mind - at least your vacation went off without a hitch, and the plug wasn't pulled on it at the last moment!
