Baseball Cards --you guys know everything.
I can't find a site to tell me the value of 2 baseball cards my son received as a gift.

One is a Kirby Pucket, signed on the front, Topps #650.

The other is a Topps Stadium Club # 155 Jose Canseco, not signed.

Both mint condition.

I'll keeplooking. In the meantime, anyone?

2. You need to have a dealer look at 'em
Note, though: "Mint" doesn't mean "Just as it came out of the pack." It indicates a factory proof that's ab.so.lute.ly freakin' perfect.

I dunno if that's what you meant. I'm just sayin'. :hi:

Oh, and a signed card can actually have a lower value. It depends on whether the buyer wants the autograph or the card.

7. ditto this suggestion....
I was really big into comics when I was younger, and mint condition is in the eye of the beholder...if their is a little speck of dust on the comic/card, its value will get cut in half....

I'd try a dealer first....

8. Thanks.
My dad collects comics, so I was aware of mint--but that's a good thing to point out -- and actually, the autograph means it's not mint--'cause it has ink on it. ;-)

I know zip about baseball, but I'm sure I can find a good dealer in NY.

:hi:

3. here's a link that might help
it says the Kirby Puckett is $.10 - $.75 but doesn't mention signed vs unsigned.
(near the bottom of the page)

Anyway, it's Beckett's, and you can search around there...

5. 2 things
1. Signed baseball cards are (except to an enthusiast of the player) worth the lesser of the two, signed v. mint. Signing a card, oddly enough, detracts from the value...usually.

2. Nobody give opinions on bb card value online. Go to a bookstore and check out a Beckett's. Also, mint is almost never mint. Depends on the dealer/buyer.

Also, for values to look them up, you'll want to know the issue year of the cards. It's their "vintage" so to speak.

Good luck!

10. I put them away now...
...but I think they were both issued in the late 80s.

I'll let you know what a dealer says.

6. EBAy....
That will give you an idea of what the cards are worth at this moment...

Remember, a card can be worth anything...

But the only number that truly counts is the amount someone is actually willing to pay...

9. I saw the puckett for about 25 bucks.
When my friend gave them to my son, he told me not to let him handle them, and keep them in their sheaths, and when my son is 16, sell them and buy him something nice. He gave me the impression that he thought they gad the potential to really appreciate. But I have no clue about them.

appreciation....
