No kidding - I heard this on Diane Rehm this morning.
1. Appoint Negroponte to a high position in the State Department to beef up his resume.
2. Cheney resigns due to poor health.
3. Condeleeza is appointed the new VP.
4. Negroponte become Secretary of State.
It all fits. Who better to serve the torturer-in-chief than the man who paid off the Death Squads in Nicaragua?

3. Running Condi in 2008? |

That way they'd be set to meet the threat from either Oboma or Hillary. The best part - wait for it - Dick Cheney would be tanned, rested and ready to go to be her VP!

5. Running?! RUNNING?! No, no, no, no, dear friend.... |

They'll try to just take the office, being as we can't take all the time that elections require, 'cos we're at war. Remember, Giuliani tried to clutch his power for even longer with that same rationale.
