Don't let the bedbugs bite!!
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0105BedBugs0105.html

Excerpt:
An opera singer from New York came to Phoenix to play the role of the Dew Fairy in the Phoenix Symphony's production of Hansel and Gretel when she was bitten by bedbugs.

"This is not going to help my romantic life or my career, but this was a terrifying experience," Alison Trainer, 32, told the New York Daily News. "I leaped out of bed and pulled back the sheet. They were everywhere! It was like a sci-fi movie."

Unfortunately, the expression "Don't let the bedbugs bite" is now actually advice that should be heeded both here and across the country. The blood-sucking insects, once nearly eradicated, have been making a comeback for years.

A common source of the insect is hotel rooms where one guest can unknowingly leave them behind and the next guest can find them in the bed.

Trainer, who lives in Manhattan, said the bites left her with ugly red welts, and she has filed a $6 million lawsuit against the Hilton Hotel Corp. in a New York court. She was staying at the Hilton Suites in central Phoenix at the end of November when she said she was bitten 150 times.

Sweet dreams!!

1. Damn!
As often as you hear about bed bugs recently it's enough to make you never use a hotel again. x(

3. After I read that article
I had to check both mattresses in my house. I wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight if I hadn't. :scared:

2. I got them at a VERY expensive hotel in Bethesda
I found the bug itself, which was in the process of biting my upper thigh. Unfortunately, I dropped it on the floor.

I told the manager, and he didn't believe me. He wanted "hotel security" to get a picture of the bite, and I declined. I wasn't asking for a refund - just wanted to warn him that he shouldn't let out the room again before fumigating it. Told him "....and don't claim that I must have gotten them at a cheap hotel, because this is Tuesday, and on Friday I checked out of another high-end hotel in your chain - so if I got them from a hotel, it was one of yours!

5. yuck! Did you stay the night there after that happened?
I hope you checked all your clothes too when you got home. It would be awful to bring them back with you.

7. Oh, absolutely!
They are directly across the street from where I have to go to work, and if it's raining, you can walk from hotel to office without going outside!

We shook everything out in the driveway when we got home, then right into the washer without a stop elsewhere in the house. I'm surprised with all the travel I do that I haven't gotten them more often!
