I mentioned I had a date tonight with 3 men. It turned out to be 6 and a couple of the women in the department showed up too. There were about a dozen of us in all till about 8 or 9 when people started leaving. I had a great time and got good hugs and kisses from all my favorite men tonight.

This was a lay-off party. It has been one year since the company went belly up. We had parties at the incremental layoff times last January, February, and March. I met with some of the guys last summer for shits and grins and thus have corresponded in email since then but have not seen any of them for months. So tonight was a treat for all of us.
I confess to having a friend that is a freeper. I can honestly say I love him. I noticed through emails this year that he went though a severe depression and he told me tonight that after the February get-together he got arrested for DUI and spent the night in jail. Now that I know it all fits together and all falls in place.
Paul and I also argued about Rush Limbaugh and the Iraq war tonight and politics but do you know what? When I arrived at the bar he stood up and gave me a big hug and a kiss, and when he decided to leave I planted a huge smooch upon his sorry ass person hood. We are good buddies and politics are secondary to that. I just love that guy. He's an asshole. ;-)
I wore my Democratic Underground sweatshirt to this gathering. This is Republican territory and I did that intentionally. It was noticed and I was asked about it. I responded that I have become a pain in the ass liberal/Democrat. The responses were that is was no surprise I was a pain in the ass. ;-)
A lady I worked with came home with me and visited for a couple hours just now. She is a registered Republican but wants nothing to do with bush* anymore and wanted to talk to me about Democratic alternatives. She is going to change her affiliation from Republican to Democratic because of the 87 Billion extra funds bush* asked for. -
BUT Yikes! I love Jan dearly, but she is prejudiced as hell. She hates Affirmative Action and is indignant about gays suggesting they are entitled to equal rights. *sigh* I was incredulous with her talk about gay rights and kept asking her why and she brought up the BIBLE! I got up and walked away and said DON'T EVEN bring the Bible into this conversation. She GOT my message. We still love each other.
All in all it was a good night.
I think I'll have another drink.
Someone asked a week or so ago if people could still type if they were drunk. I said I'd let you know in a week, as in tonight. I don't think I'm drunk enough for the test, but I'm doing fine.
