Anyone Else Hooked on Sudoku?

This is pretty scary when you consider that I really can't even work the "easy" ones. I have to cheat. But I still keep trying.

Hell, I can't even remember how to spell it.

Seriously, there are benefits to crossword puzzles and sudoku; they keep your mind sharp.

2. I tried, but got too damn frustrated

My mind doesn't work like that, I could never lead the exciting and dangerous life of an accountant. It's crosswords for me, the harder the better. Cryptics, too, though those British ones are utterly impossible.

3. I am doing crosswords, too. Can't do the NYT - it's too hard

but I usually can get most of the KC Star one done.

even bought a computer game version with levels 1-9. It's my idea of fun. :think:

I think it's good for me to work the puzzles even if I can't figure them out. Makes my brain think in ways it doesn't usually.

My doctors had me of SSRI's for years and one of the long term side effects has been that my mind doesn't move very well any more. Even after a year. But these puzzles seem to really be helping.

making copies so when he erases the paper so many times he can still finish the puzzle LOL

7. I prefer word puzzles like the Cryptoquote

or the Jumbles. I've done Sudokus, but after you solve it, all you have is a bunch of numbers.

8. I can't work those hard puzzles. My mind just doesn't work like that.

I didn't use to be able to work crosswords - but I found that I really can now. Don't know why.

9. Work on them while doing cardio at the gym

I'm going through a 115 page Sudoku book I bought in Tokyo, and they're freaking hard as hell. I can't tell you the number of times I wanted to scream at the book when a puzzle gives no more than 3 starting numbers in a sequence, or, my favorite, when there are no starting numbers at all for a certain digit.

Thanks to my husband. I'd seen it around and never really thought about it, then one day I asked my husband about it and he told me he really loved doing them. So his boss bought him this pen with a sudoku game attached and he brought it home to me so I could see what it was all about. Then I bought him a really neat pocket game that allows him to create his own and has over 1,000,000 game options for the holidays....He has yet to take it to work with him as I'm always playing with it...lol

It's one of those addictions I don't really 'enjoy' playing, but I can't stop. :rofl:

13. I love sudoku.

I got one of those sudoku a day calenders for 2007 and I had finished it in a few hours. I've gotten pretty good at them. I love Kakuro as well. The more difficult the puzzle, the more I love it.
