Ever completely change your life?

I'm giving it some serious thought.

I'm thinking I should quit my job of two years, sell my house of six years, move away from my community of eight years, and try something else, more challenging in every aspect and possibly much more rewarding -- in part, with a woman I strongly suspect I'm meant to do such things with.

I can stay where I am, be comfortable and unremarkable in my career and life pretty much forever.

Or I can rather "go for it."

I believe going for it to be the right path. Going for it in love, going for it in career, going for it in general.

If I'm wrong, I'm young and can recover. If I'm right, the world is my oyster.

Any thoughts? :D

Got a divorce, moved from Oregon to Washington, ended up going to college, and never looked back.

We moved to a new community, I went back for my Master's degree, and found full-time work. Not all at once, but eventually it worked out for the better.

As you say yourself, if you're wrong, you can recover. But I doubt you're wrong. I don't think too many people get much of anywhere if they never take a chance.

11. CHANGE is the only constant.

It is, in my estimation, to be EMBRACED rather than feared. My first foray into the unfamiliar was at 15, no longer able to tolerate my environs south of the Mason-Dixon line. No regrets.

The second was giving away everything and joining a cult. No regrets.

The third was leaving the cult with NOTHING. No regrets.

The fourth was buying into my 60's induced "you-can-have-it-all" Ameican Dream. Some regrets... Had I only realized how deep the myths and lies were... :wtf: was I thinking? I'd called it correctly as a teenie...

The fifth was getting the fuck outta Dodge. No regrets.

I chose the road less travelled. NOW where the hell am I??? No regrets, I deal with what IS, NOW. But then again, I've had a lot of practice. ;-)

14 years ago, I quit my job and school to move from RI (and my family and friends) to WNY to live with a guy (now my husband).

Ironically, now I'm going to be doing the opposite. So you could say I'm about to completely change my life once again.

Because if I changed what I did, then I wouldn't have my children. I can't picture my life without them.

And since we can't go back and change the past, it's a moot issue anyway. I have to just learn and move on.

the 'can recover' thing is the key. It sounds like you are more than capable of recovering from it if there is an unforseen fork in the road. It's easier than living with the 'what ifs' anyway.
