anybody ever have to do classroom aid duty at kid's school?
What I thought was helping my niece with a school project at the school's media center has ended up as being a "media aide" for a few hours this friday.

My niece (in the 4th grade) called me last week and aske me if I would help her with her school project - she's doing a report presentation thingy on Pennsylvania.

Then she called me a day or so later and asked if I could help her in the media center at her school. Silly me, thought it was helping her with her project at the media center.

ennywhoo - I've been "volunteered" to be a media aide. All I know is that it's sometime this Friday. their mom would do it, but this time of year is crunch time for her at work and she can't take time off.

anyone having similar experience please help - don't know what's expected of me. How did it go for you?

1. I've done tuorting, driving, infrastructure repair, dishing out lunch
and watching the kids while the teachers had a nice lunch we provided.

But my son's school is a small private one.

Just be flexible and patient, most schools are so glad that you are helping! :hi:

2. Girlfriend, over the years, I've done it all!
I also have a 4th grader dtr this year and I volunteer every other week in her class, mostly helping the teacher administratively, filing and whatnot. I also drive on field trips, etc,....

Like tigererye says, most schools are just happy to have extra help, so don't worry about it and have fun. It won't be too hard, trust me.

:hi:

3. thanks -
I'm not all that worried about it, just wondering what I could expect.

I have no kids, except the 4-legged furry kind and they are "home schooled" :)
