Went to bed after the first half. This morning I heard the final was 41-14. Congrats Florida! The Gators were a better team than I gave them credit for, even though I know that OSU wasn't as bad of a team as they looked like last night. Still, no doubt, the Gators were the better team. The Buckeyes were uninspired and arrogant. That 4th down call on their own 30 was unbelievable. The Vest was a little too cocky there.

Maybe this will finally put to rest the bs football school/basketball school dichotomy which I always thought was a crock. Florida holds both national championships and might repeat in basketball. OSU had a shot at football and might win in basketball. Texas has had an excellent football and basketball program at the same time as well (thought they're down a bit this year in both sports).

After I posted that, I thought that you might wonder if my exclamation was directed at you. You know that it wasn't, thankfully. I only go nuts over about 3-4 games every year, but when I do, I go "all in".

There's a good reason why I've purposefully distanced myself from sports. I tend to get a little nutty.

I'm the same way when I watch my team play, especially when they are doing badly...the last time I was really pissed off, was the Super Bowl last year...and it wasn't about the refs/team at all...my Father in Law was giving me grief, because he agreed, a month before, that if my Hawks made it to the SB, he would let me watch it as his house...our uhf channels here are wavy and crappy....and he had cable.

So, the hawks make it to the SB, and my Father in Law complains/gripes for most of the 1st half about how he wants to watch animals on Discovery Channel, and he wouldn't let it drop...then he started going on a tangeant of him buying another tv, so he can watch what he wants in his bedroom...

I didn't pop off, I just told my wife, its time to go...my wife, and mother in law, were like why? I look at my FIL, and I was like...no reason...but oh boy, my wife got an earful on the ride back to our house...where I continued to watch the SB with a lot of snow/hazy lines cutting through the screen.

I was like, DAMN IT MAN! The first time my team makes it to the Super Bowl, in team history, and I have to sit here and listen to this idiot talk about how he wants to see the damn squirrels/animals/whatever on the Discovery Channel! I thought he was joking, but he was serious...oh boy, I was pissed.

I always like how you see upsets in Bowl games because you a great coaching staff can truly make a difference with all that preparation time. Interesting half for sure.

That camel's back broke long ago. I don't know, maybe the stars were aligned in 2003 against Miami. This team has far more talent and they're just an aBYSmal disappointment tonight.

I simply DO not get it. UF is not all that great a team. They can't run the ball, yet this dink-a-dunk pass-happy offense which they've been running all year just killed us tonight. Didn't they watch game films? Didn't they rehearse trick plays? I mean, why the HELL are you playing zone the whole fucking game while this average-ass turnover machine decimates your D?

I mean, this goddamned team lost to Auburn, who beat them without even scoring an offensive TD!

And the offense . . . MAN. Where the hell was the line tonight? Also, where the hell was Ray Small to substitute for Ginn? Seems to me Troy only wanted to throw to Gonzalez while he's being covered by two Gators. Meanwhile Rehring and Boone played like they were slow and had a case each. Getting burned far too many times tonight, which resulted in lots of busted plays and sacks. You can only get out of so many busted plays. They should have ran the ball like fiends but didn't.

I said it before - if the OSU D had as many miscues as they did against Michigan, this game would be close, but I never dreamed the whole team would be playing this BADLY. Poor coaching, poor play, just poor all around.

My only hope is LeBron and the Cavs, but sadly, even they're still one solid scorer away from reaching the finals.

Ohio teams are simply snakebitten. What can you say? A team with this much talent should not be playing this poorly.

Read the book Cursed. What's especially hilarious about it is how it recounts players our teams COULD have picked but passed up for stifferonies. A lot of it is bad luck, but the preventable piece of it all comes down to bad management and decision making.

said this team is FAR better than Krenzel and the the f'kd up game against miami. I think 51 days had something to do with it and you're correct, no adjustments were made to hold the gators. The whole OSU team just doesn't give a shit about the national title. They have no idea what it's like to be down in a game and tressel has played conservative the entire game. Smith just lost any chance at the NFL, he'll be lucky to get third round pick after this debacle, too bad, he really is a lot better than this but it appears when he's down, he gives up. Just an embarrassment to the whole OSU program. To be spanked so hard by a team that never was suppose to go to the bowl game at all, a true wild card stomps out the number one team. I still think the gators suck, they play sloppy fucking football, but apparently tressel can't adjust to his own short sighted rules of straight big 10 football.
