14. Was all that creation for our amusement?
In the greater scheme of things, why did God create dinosaurs?
For us to dig up and go whoah that's so cool!
Same as Elvis he never needed the glitter to shine.

15. We dig shit up because thats what we do.
There is no logic about humans. Hopefully we learn. Basically we dig shit up because humans have an insatiable curiosity. Sometimes we pause to appreciate what we dug up. Sometimes we just move on to look for food/safety/stability. Sometimes we just lay down and die. There is no logic to humans.

11. Maybe
The whole thing is a meaning of life type of question.
If we are made in God's image, whose image where the dinosaurs made in?
God made the earth and the dinosaurs who were around a lot longer than us, are we just an afterthought?

22. I'm sorry -- but do you really believe that?
The universe is vast, vast, vast.

Billions of stars and planets.

Our little blue globe is on a wing of a not particularly large galaxy.

It started billions of years ago.

One-celled life on Earth didn't begin until billions of years had passed.

Dinosaurs evolved as a response to environmental conditions. So did humans.

If you compress the existence of earth into a theoretical year, modern humans don't appear until the last second of the last day of the year.

So there's supposed to be some omnipotent bearded, robed creature that judges Earth the most important speck in the universe and makes a group of animals in "His" (of course it's a male :eyes: ) image?

* * *

Does not compute...Does not make sense.

For some reason, humans seem incapable of grasping their place in the universe.

44. I think it reflected Gods mood at the time.
The Deity had gone through some difficult times with contradictions in the laws of the universe, particularly the phenomena of black holes, which threatened to suck everything out of current existence into a real where the Deity had no power. It was at this time, dinosaurs came up. They made no sense at all and violated the aesthetics of the emerging biosphere. This temporary lapse in an otherwise perfect record had calamitous consequences promoting the reliance of dinosaur residue by later generations and the further fouling of the earth, the Deities pet project.

Now her/his eminence is working on a "patch" to install that will remedy this much earlier mistake and restore normal physical and consciousness based evolution. It's called neoDarwinism with a move toward gentler transitions and less reliance on the "germ" paradigm.
