A day in the life of a single mom
Edited on Tue Jan-09-07 07:15 AM by Maine-ah
A good and long time friend of mine has been published at commonties.com

http://www.commonties.com/blog/2007/01/08/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-single-mom-2/

it's a beautiful insight to her and her two daughters, and I can imagine many single moms here will be able to relate.

1. I can't imagine how hard it must be sometimes to
be a single parent. I just don't know how I'd manage if I ever became a single dad. I guess you just sort of do it, you don't have a choice, but still. Hats off to all single moms and single dads. :hi: :yourock:

6. really doesn't sound much different from my friend's life
Edited on Tue Jan-09-07 08:10 AM by Maine-ah
but for some reason you had to insult her. Her's was just much more descriptive than yours. As it was intended to be. If she wrote it like you did, I doubt it would have been published. I find it odd that one single parent would "dis" another for their lifestyle. Everyone does what they can.

I grew up with this person, and I can tell you, this is exactly how her family is.

on edit,

again kudos to all single parents, it's got to be the most difficult job there is.

7. Oh dear Lord. I am so sorry.
It was never my intention to insult or dis her in any way. Sometimes my mouth runs away with me. I would never slam anyone who is going through what I went through. Maine-ah, please accept my apologies.

10. Sometimes I'm just bitter about the hoops I had to jump thru,
and now to be told that because I was working mother I was a failure as a mother.

11. that sucks.
I'm sure that you do everything you can to make a good life for your kids, and anyone who says you're a failure is an ass.(I'm betting it's the ex & one of the reasons he's the ex.)

12. all moms are working moms,
Edited on Tue Jan-09-07 12:43 PM by tigereye
and no moms are failures. WOrking at home and on the job are incredibly hard, and actually, I think that kids do just as well, if not better, when mom has other parts of her life, like outside work. ANother reason that Rick Santorum got the boot, IMO.

I don't know if I could do what single moms have had to do. (however, if I had to, I simply would have to!) Kudos and  to all.

8. Adorable!
Sounds much like my life as a married mom. Except I'm responsible for getting the larger child out of bed and off to work too. ;) Three cheers to anyone who is in charge of keeping a household and its inhabitants running...and stay sane at the same time.

Thanks for sharing that! :hi:
