Another great DU pet has returned home to God

(mdmc and Ginger) Rest in Peace Ginger! You were a great friend of mine and I will always love you.

(No matter how deep my sleep I shall hear you, and not all the power of death can keep my spirit from wagging a grateful tail)- Tao House 12-17-1940

...Many DU'ers have lost pets. Some recently, some a long time ago.

I wanted to thank all DU'ers for the kindness that they show to all those in suffering. It is with this in mind that I post this tribute to

Robb's dear Krishna
and

Quanda's dear PJ. You made your humans happy and touched us all here at DU.

I know that there are other pics out there, so lets see em!

God bless (mdmc) Honey, (u4ic lost her bird a while ago), (seattlegirl) Shadow, (goneoffshore) Mip, (Allycats kitty), (Atomickitten's kitty), (Revcheesehead) Roo, (Antfarm's pet), (Squeech) Andy, (Brigid's kitty), (zorra and ulysses long lost pets). I know that many more have suffered. I pray for you all, and all your pets. Here is more at this link -

8. for ginger:
The Creation

When God had made the earth and sky
the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
the fish, the birds and bees.

And when at last He'd finished
not one was quite the same.
He said, "I'll walk this world of mine
and give each one a name."

And so He traveled far and wide
and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him
until it's strength was spent.

When all were named upon the earth
and in the sky and sea,
the little creature said, "Dear Lord,
there's not one left for me."

Kindly the Father said to him,
"I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front
and called you dog, My friend."

Tribute To A Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

13. Beautiful tribute. Ginger awaits you, at The Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I love the way DU'ers care so much about the loss of a pet, you all are wonderful people. I'm a reader more than a poster, but I have to say I have cried many a tear reading all you guys, whether it's a pet or of course a person you guys truly care about each other and other people. I learned about the Rainbow Bridge here at DU and it comforted me when Buster went, I'm sure someone will post it before me, but anyway:

22. This is so beautiful- and so thoughtful!
Rest in peace, dear Ginger.

She was a wonderful dog
and a great friend!

My condolences to you and your entire family.

You have touched my heart beyond words with your
great tribute to our wonderful animal buddies who
have passed on. I have many in that group.

Thank you, thank you!!
I'm teary eyed as I write this,
looking at one of my kitties sleeping in front of
the monitor.I'm thinking of all my kitties who
have passed on.

The pain of their passing subsides,
but we never forget them!

God Bless You!

26. In one month, January 2003
Once we put Molly to sleep (couldn't hardly walk anymore, in horrid pain, we waited until after xmas), Amos went downhill fast (he had a nasal tumor, and it was just a matter of time, as survival time for treated vs. untreated is about the same) and about three weeks later we put him to sleep. Believe me, it sucked big time, I still miss them horribly, as does every person who had ever met them (especially Amos, I still have friends out of the blue tell me "I really miss Amos, he was awesome").

There's just something about golden retrievers, don't know what exactly it is. Again, I am so sorry for mdmc's loss, Ginger looked like a wonderful golden girl, and I am sure she will be terribly missed.

29. I am so sorry for your loss :(
As the owner of a Golden, I know firsthand what truly great dogs they are. Someone sent me this on the loss of my last dog. I hope this helps. Tammy

Last Night
I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peek.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said " it's me."
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.
