Recommend to me a good album
I must have new music!

1. Cannot get any current airplay on MTV, VH1, or radio
2. Must not be older than 1980
3. Must not be considered pop, jazz, blues, classic rock, heavy metal, disco, rap, country, or R&B

Thanks :)

3. Hmm. This one's current, but I haven't seen it getting airplay....
Very reminiscent of Portishead and PJ Harvey, and just a really good album. Kind of atmospheric and trippy and retro (all at the same time): The Mating Game by Bitter:Sweet.

The title track is one of my favorite songs right now.

4. TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
Though I think they may have recently started playing on MTV, but it's their first time, AFAIK. Also, it's not easily categorized in terms of its sound -- densely layered with some odd hooks.

6. You eliminated many of the genres I like
I'm a pop and classic rock fan. Bonnie "Prince" Billy's The Letting Go is one suggestion.

Any album by them but the new one, "Migrations," is mighty sweet!

I don't know if they get any play on MTV or VH1 coz I don't watch them but I do know this band is excellent and very eclectic! Hard to catagorize.
