FL: Mom put baby in warm oven during breakup
The baby began crying as the uncle was packing a suitcase for his brother, who was waiting outside the apartment, according to a report. When the uncle asked Singh where the baby was, she didn't answer and left the apartment.

That's when the uncle realized the cries were coming from the kitchen. He found the child in the oven with streaks of oven grease and what may have been a small burn or scrape on her chin, Jones said. The baby was not seriously hurt.

"The oven wasn't terribly hot, but it was on," Jones said.

Singh was found soon afterward at the complex. She denied putting the baby in the oven.

6. Back in the old days when they were wood stoves or those big
central chimneys that had baking ovens, they would put newborns in the warming oven or under the woodstove to keep them warm.

8. There's not need for that in Florida
Besides, it's been warm for the past few days (in the 80's late 70's)

The only witness here is the brother in law.

Since this couple might possibly have a custody battle coming, maybe the father wanted some reason to be able to get full custody and sent his brother to come up with this scenario.

Should we automatically believe this story, or wait for an investigation?

am I too cynical?
