2. My first thought
I have used this for probably 20 years for EVERYTHING (even burns - trust me!)

Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream. Yup, that pink, stiff cream. Yours may be more severe than what I experience, but it works for me!

:hi:

3. I don't have eczema, but another skin affliction.
They both seem to be raised in the same breath, but I've come across oatmeal baths, as well as (and this helped me some) lavender salt baths.

4. I have a selection of things I use
Cortisone creme
Benadryl spray and creme
Sarna lotion
Kukui oil or lotion

...depending on what's going on (itchiness or dryness, hives, whatever). It's not fun, I sympathize. :(

I recently was diagnosed with a host of food allergies, and when I eliminate the problem foods, my eczema does get better, though.

5. Same here
regarding your last statement.

I've eliminated gluten and yeast, and it reduced significantly.

6. Omega 3 fatty acids
as a supplement, like those from fish or flax, often help people. A better idea would be to get an omega 3-6-9 supplement, so they're all in balance. Hempseed oil is another one that has a good balance of the three.

If it is in areas that are clothed, you may find that switching detergents or fabric softeners may help (though organic is not a guarantee, there are a few organic brands that I react to). Soap could be another culprit (though technically, it would be contact dermatitis, sometimes the two go hand in hand).

7. Eucerin lotion
Especially the soothing cream. It works well for me. I also use Cortaid and never wear synthetic fabrics which exacerbates the condition. Just cotton.

A dermatologist recommended the Eucerin and it really does work. Plus it's unscented and non-greasy.

I find unscented detergerent and fabric softener are a must too.
