From my Myspace Blog:
New personal record for most embarrassing moment ever……
This morning at 9:30 I strolled into a class of about 100 people. I have a walking cast so I elicit plenty of stares anyway. Well, I sit down, next to this extremely cute girl, and after a few moments I decide to hit the bathroom quickly before class starts, so I get up and tenuously place my coffee mug on the seat. It looks like it will hold, and with my injured leg, it is a pain to carry things around, so I leave it and walk out the door. As I open the door to leave, I hear a thumping sound of something hitting a chair and then rolling onto the floor.
I step back in the room and see about 100 people looking at my spilled coffee seeping, puddling across the floor.
The cute girl saves my bag from being drenched.
I go get some paper towels.
By the time I get back the mess has spread even further, slowly but surely engulfing the desk space around it.
I do not have nearly enough towels. I also can barely bend down to wipe it up because of my leg, so I just leave it. I also should have wallowed in my own mess, but my walking cast can’t get wet, so I sheepishly and shamelessly move to a seat in a clean, dry area.
My own little coffeeless island
People who came in late had to sit in the seats swamped by Full City blend coffee.
It actually made the room smell good. This was no consolation.
When class ended I hightailed out of there without looking back.
Maybe next week will be better.
I hope.
