I am sad! Trader Joe's not coming to Spokane,WA after all!

For a year now, Spokane was considered a site for a new Trader Joe's. Now it has been confirmed that Spokane will not be getting a Trader Joe's after all. I am so bummed out! :-( It looks like I am going to have to bring some extra cash and an extra bag the next time I am in Seattle. Not only that, I have more of an excuse not to stay in Spokane now.

2. What a bummer!

How many people live in Spokane these days? I would think it would be enough to support a TJ's.

3. Spokane has about 200,000 people. About 480,000 in the metro area.

You would think they would have one. Spokane is bigger than Reno and Reno has a Trader Joe's. Something must have put them off from setting up shop here. I wished I knew what it was.

for at least 12 years.

Could you e-mail them to find out? Maybe if they get enough requests, they will rethink their decision?

I have a TJ's about one mile down the road. In between me and TJ's is a Whole Foods with a Wild Oats directly across the street

9. I'm really sorry. That truly sucks. I actually told my husband recently that

I wouldn't move anywhere that didn't have a Trader Joe's within a 20 minute drive. Unless maybe it's Paris, France or somewhere like that.
