But then, I don't know cajun. I'm feeling pretty good any time I get a French word pronounced correctly, let alone manage to say in the garbled pigeon of cajun.

2. Yeah, Cajun 'French' is a little different from Parisienne.

However, when I met Miz t.'s grandmere (who lived waaayyy in the boonies of southwest LA) I found we could communicate better in French than in English. And my French wasn't all that good.
