Question about home sale fraud
Greetings all, a fellow American retiree living here in the Philippines has just had his home in Carson California ripped off by his estranged Wife and her boyfriend, who posed as my friend with phony ID to sell the house
No help from the local police in Carson, does my friend have any recourse?
The guy is heartbroken, it was all he had.
Thanks for any advice

1. Of course he does
The poser committed fraud, and the sale should be ruled null and void. I am wondering the police are of no help?

2. Have him call the state AG's office.
He should be able to get some help there.

3. Well, he'll have to lawyer up, thats for sure.
He'll probably have to sue the individual who thinks they now own the house, and they'll have to sue the estranged wife and boyfriend.

4. File a claim with the title underwriter.
The title agent/closer is on the hook for this. Have your friend IMMEDIATELY contact a real estate lawyer. Specifically, a real estate lawyer.

Technically, your friend still has the same interest that he had before the fraud. This problem is easily reversed, either through ownership/possession or through compensation, but your friend needs to act in haste.
