2. Depends on who it is
My dad likes to do that...depending on my mood, I stop him or let him have at it.

My Nana (101) will repeat the same thing in basically 2-5 minutes. I give her leeway. LoL.

8. I always say, with total enthusiasm, "I know, you told me! That's so cool!"
Conversely, if it's a sad story, I say, with frownie, concerned face, "I know, you told me. I'm so sorry."

10. It depends on the person (shame on me).
I can listen to my father relate stories of his childhood (even better than "A Christmas Story") over and over again. Other people I usually try and stop with something like,"I remember you telling me that..." or "Is that the time you...?" and sometimes they get it and other times (like in the case of my beloved but flighty cousin in law) there isn't anything that's going to stop them. She is so bad she will even ask,"Did I tell you this before?" and I will say,"Yes, you did." and she will tell it again anyway. sigh...

11. My Grandfather does this all the time
I let him tell it again, it's like seeing a movie again or listening to a song again that you like.

15. Say "This reminds me of deja vu."
And when they say "Did I tell you this already?"

answer "Whoa, it's like I knew that you were going to say that."

17. We use the 'finger notification method'.
The first time they retell it one of us will hold up one finger.
The second time, two fingers.
etc.
Works for us.
;-)
