Anyone seen Pan's Labryinth?
I'm thinking of seeing it this weekend and just wondered if any of you good folks could advise me to either rush to the theater with all speed! or if I should just wait for it to come out on DVD?

4. Luckily, I live in NYC
And we get the cool movies early.

I've heard the same (that it's good), but I don't know anyone who's actually seen it. Hate to drop $11 and kill my afternoon without some sort of personal recommendation.

2. Haven't seen it.
I have seen the filmmaker's earlier work "The Devil's Backbone." Seems a similar theme- a young kid stuck in the Spanish Civil War, runs into supernatural occurences...

That was fairly good, worth a rental.

11. The Devil's Backbone is a solid film.
Pan's Labyrinth has a really good rating on both IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes.

6. I've seen good reviews
But I don't actually know anyone who's seen it. I'd like to know if it's Good good or just arty/weird good before I spend the money and time going to the theater.

7. Run, run, run to the cinema!
Easily one of the best films of 2006 and is one that really warrants the big screen. If you want a really enthusiastic kick up the bum to see it, listen Mark Kermode's review on the BBC:

9. I'm thinking about seeing it myself
just on the grounds that Doug Jones, the guy who played Abe Sapien in Hellboy, is in it. I thought he did a fantastic job.

12. Go Now!
This is one of the best films I've seen recently. Excellent visual effects, excellent story. It is absolutely a wonderful film. I'm now officially a part of the cult of Guillermo del Toro.

13. Saw it last week
and LOVED it! It's a very absorbing story, more violent than I expected.. the picture is very interesting and the sound great so I would suggest seeing it in the theater unless you have a good home theater.
