I just saw something pretty amusing

Just got back from running errands. I saw a woman in a Mercedes driving from parking meter to parking meter until she found one with some time left on it! Tight or what?

I've been there...

Then there was the time I parked at a meter in front of a convenience store to get milk. It was about 9pm. The only problem was, I didn't realize that the meters were in effect until 10pm. I was in and out of the store in less than 5 minutes; but there was a $15 ticket on my windshield. That day, I swore I'd not pay for another meter in that town until I had my $15 worth.

Probably don't keep alot of old spare change (there's always a quarter or two in the cushions) in it like I do in my heap.

5. Years ago

I worked for a man who was FILTHY rich. I mean Rolls Ryce rich. He would stop and pick up a penny. We used to amuse ourselves (college years) by gluing pennies to the parking lot where he parked - just to watch him bend over and try to retrieve them.:rofl:

RIP Mr. Murphy. He was a pretty cool old dude in other respects.

7. There's the story about Bill Gates...

...that was repeated in the unauthorized biography "Hard Drive". When he was worth only about ten billion dollars, he was in line at the supermarket, buying a tub of Haagen Dazs. He told the cashier he had a 50 cent coupon, then proceeded to take about five minutes turning out his pockets trying to find it. Finally, an exasperated guy in the line behind him plunked 50 cents down on the conveyor belt and said "pay me back when you make your next billion, Bill."

The punchline is that Gates took the 50 cents.
