3. Thanks!
Right now it is a hobby, but I've had people tell me I've got real skill and can go pro and make 'real money'.

I could even do the inverse and work doing forensics if I wanted; that's kinda cool too...

7. I've noticed between posting #3 and now, 'counselor' went from 0 to 6.

Well, now I wish euthanasia is allowable; I'm good at nothing else!

(on edit: The  smilie I deemed inappropriate.)

5. Instincts are only as valuable as the ambient environment.
For example, when people look at me I have to determine if they are trying to determine if they know me from somewhere, want to get sweaty and naughty with me, or think I am a freak. Deciphering body language has typically been difficult for me.

Right now I know more of the pieces. Once I learn to put the pieces together will I be ready to proceed with a new career. Right now I'm damn lucky to have a job and I will work to the best of my ability until I am made redundant. I mustn't let wayward emotion cloud my judgment. That's happened before...

8. As a child, I hated emotions. (okay, that does sound amusing...)
Amongst other things, my parents wondered if I was on drugs. (um, NO.)

9. It depends
Sometimes coworkers know you better than a counselor. Sometimes a counselor might have their own hang up about something.
Sometimes coworkers don't know something about you that your counselor does. Sometimes a group of coworkers might have their own bias on something.
Maybe, you should seek a third party point of view or ask yourself what you really want.
