Trucker stuck in ice storm 2007
Laptop with Net access-check.
Satellite TV-check.
Cell Phone-check.

I was stuck in similar weather back in 1987. All
I had then was AM radio for info and entertainment.
Funny how we take survival for granted and worry about
creature comforts. Having said that, I, uh, spent many $
on extra supplies. Survival, doncha know? :hippie:

16. Yeah, That Pretty Well Sums Up What I'd Say About It
haven't spent a lot of time there, just think of it as the turnoff for highway 69 heading to Dallas mainly.

What a drag. 3.2 beer, in Checotah, no decent food anywhere probably. What a drag!

I didn't know they even had food, other than the kind you cook.

I haven't spent anytime there either, other than passing through.

18. there might be a fast food place or two?
It's the kind of place you just pass through

I took the wrong exit once and drove through town. It wasn't much but it put me off the highway for a long time.

:silly:

Probably a really dumb question, but I'd love to know the answer.

20. I was there yesterday.
My 3.5 hour drive home from college turned into 7. Cars were off the road everywhere, especially the 90 miles of rural highway which was completely covered. It was probably one of the most terrifying things I've ever done...I was on edge from 12:30-7:30.

Stay safe, lt. :)

21. I don't know what it's doing where you are this Sunday morning,
but here in OKC we've been having torrents of sleet and thunder for the last hour or so. It's so loud you can hear it in the house. Oh, how I dread even thinking about going to work tomorrow.

Stay safe and warm, LT--and sorry about the beer.

25. Unfortunately I'll probably have to make an appearance no
matter what the weather. For a company that prides itself on its high-tech equipment, we're still expected to have our butts in a chair all day, every day. You'd think you couldn't review a spreadsheet just as easily at home as in the office, but oh, well . . . .

26. Sorry that you can't
work from home. I can't either but I live out in a rural area so my employer knows I'll not be able to make it in. I'm not even going to try.

I used to be a LTL load planner. Loved the job but worried about my drivers when the weather was bad. Are you O/O or dedicated?
