So, I've decided to stay in today...Are you?! Check in here!!
I just called and left a message for my supervisor. Honestly, I'm not scared of driving myself...it's just the other idiots on the road in their hummers riding my ass that I'm worried about. They don't open until nine this morning, but I'm not really feeling that great, so I'm not going to chance the below zero wind chills...
So, am I the only one not going into work today because of the freezing temps? Check in!

1. Daughter's daycare is closed, so I am home too
I had already chipped enough ice off the car to get it open and started when we got the word.

3. Are you stranded?
What's going on over in your neck of the woods?

4. Kinda.
We're in rural Okmulgee County and the roads are thick with ice. The battery in my car has been dead since Friday morning and my husband's truck is stuck in the driveway behind it. Not that the roads are very driveable at the moment anyway.

We have power and plenty of groceries so we're okay.

Going to bundle up and go out and attempt to get the truck moved so we can maybe (and this is a big maybe) go into town and get a battery.

5. Okay!
I guess we are stranded. We tried to go into town and didn't make it. We got about 5 miles. The roads are really rough and there were vehicles spinning into the ditches. Even watched a large flatbed wrecker slide into one sideways. We turned around and came home. The trip took us little over an hour. :eyes:

6. Yeah. I did that once.
I started out hopeful and ended up in a barbed-wire fence. I didn't hit a tree and figured I might not be so lucky the second time.

Will tomorrow be any better?

8. The precip
has stopped and no more expected but the temps won't get above freezing until Thursday. Our roads way out here don't get any attention when the weather is bad.

Thanx for asking. :hi:

9. how bad was your neck of the woods?
I am in SW Missouri, and we got hit hard by the ice storms...we got three, 1 really bad, one pretty weak, and a moderate one Sunday evening....we were without power for 3 days...according to the radio, it seems a good number of Missourians, are without power.
