Grendel - SciFi Movie version of Beowolf
Anyone else watch this? Particularly anyone more familiar with the epic poem than I. I'm only passing familiar with the Beowolf epic. I read some version in school many many (never mind how many :) ) years ago.

The movie was overall pretty limp. They seemed to be making a decent effort within the confines of a TV movie to tell a faithful version of the story but they weren't very imaginative in the presentation. Yet at the same time the character dialog was horrible when they were just retelling the parts of the Beowolf poem.

Anyway, one - I guess technical detail would be the way to say it - that did seem very odd and out of place was a sort of super weapon used by Beowolf.

There was no such weapon in the poem was there?
