Mother Misplaces Her Baby - Calls Police
<snip>

Houston FBI agents and San Antonio police are working together to find the infant. According to authorities, Veronica Francine Ramirez from San Antonio traveled to Houston on Sunday, January 14, with her two-month-old son, Isiah Ramirez. When she returned to San Antonio, reportedly under the influence of drugs, she did not have the child and could not remember what happened to him.

Veronica told San Antonio police investigators that she may have given Isiah to two unidentified females in an unidentified truck stop restroom somewhere between San Antonio and Houston. She told authorities she stopped in Columbus, but does not recall if she had the child then or not. She also said she stopped at several rest areas. Veronica may have been driving a maroon 2005 Nissan Maxima.

Veronica advised SAPD investigators that she believes Isiah may be sick. Isiah has an underdeveloped esophagus and requires special formula.

Isiah was born November 13, 2006. He's 22 inches tall, weighing 12 pounds, with gray eyes and brown hair. Isiah was last seen wearing a white beanie hat, a light blue "Winnie the Pooh" sleeper and "I Love My Daddy" bib. His child safety seat and black diaper bag are also missing.

13. I'm wondering about that, too.
If she handed the kid to a good samaritan, that person would have called the police or some other authority. If she handed the kid off to someone she knew, like a drug dealer who considers children legal tender, she could have created a fictive kidnapping to cover her own tracks.

We had a case in Detroit where the mother claimed to have lost her kid in Target (this was a while ago). Target had no video of her even bringing the kid into the store. The police found that the mother had moved from Detroit to Florida several times in the years leading up to the "kidnapping". The maternal grandmother was a bigwig in the Detroit Fire Department, and no one looked at the mother as a suspect at first. To this day, no one has found the kid and it has been over a decade. They've tried to match DNA in a few cases where bodies were found, and still haven't found him. No one was ever able to prove that the mother had anything to do with it, but she was never able to prove she brought her child to Target, either.

My guess on the local case is that that mother was somehow involved in the drug trade. Women with kids make for good transporters from Florida to Michigan, from the dealer's perspective, because they draw less suspicion. Dealers are known to mess with the children of those who they feel crossed them.

16. People like this give drugs a bad image.
I suspect this person is using drugs as an excause. How could anyone be so stoned as to lose their child, or to hand them to STRANGERS at a frigging rest stop?

Oh well I had better say that is just my opinion.

Otherwise I will get nailled by someone thinking I am making an uninformed evaluation or diagnosis and or I must really hate America.

OK so all I may have offended by this reply, hold on to your keyboards cause I gonna hit and run.
