OMG! I've been brainwashed by 24!!
That show has convinced me that we've got to fight them over there or we'll be fighting them here! Where's my tinfoil hat?! I now trust authority and distrust my neighbors!! I'm being conditioned to give up my civil liberties!!! I want more propaganda. I NEED more propaganda. Watching 24 makes me want to listen to Rush and Fox News.

And on this theme we should also get rid of all books because heaven knows what people might do if they read them... and don't get me started on all the video games teaching people to kill and rape and steal cars!! :eyes:

:sarcasm:

1. What are ya, some kind of freeper?
:sarcasm:

I wonder what sufficiently liberal shows the 24 haters would have us watch instead.

4. According to GD, I guess I am.
It's a freaking tv show. They're making way to much of it. They sound like the freepers... worried that people might get ideas or be brainwashed by being exposed to something that is just meant to be entertainment. Oy!

8. Someone needs to buy them a sense of humor.
Yep, times have been tough for us Dems the last few years but we can't forget to laugh at things.
I'm thankful for the Lounge. It's helped to keep me sane.

9. That shocked me!
A nuke has gone off before on the show. I didn't think they'd do it again... and in a populated area.

12. And it really bugs me that L.A. surburbia is always the hotbed of terrorism. Perhaps its just Fox
and Murdoch taking a stab at Hollywood's cultural elite -- hoping they can will something awful to happen.

I like "action" but the whole show is a bit too gruesome for me and my family -- from Jacks torture scars to that bomb. I'll stay away from that stuff for a while.

13. That's one thing that bugs me a little.
It's seems as though LA is always the epicenter of terrorist activity. You'd think the city would have emptied out in a panic by now.

20. FYI, my secret escape plan if a nuclear bomb ever hit L.A. was to jump on a boat and
hide behind Catalina. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

17. Isn't it great how women and all the different races
are both good and bad on 24? Just like in real life.

But I'm still waiting for a woman President on 24!

15. Funny you should connect 24 to Rush....
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0706062rush1.html

Rush Limbaugh was traveling with four other men--including the producers of the hit show "24"--when he was detained over a mislabeled bottle of Viagra found in his luggage during a Customs search. A Department of Homeland security passenger manifest shows that Limbaugh and his four buddies flew from the Dominican Republic on a Gulfstream IV jet owned by Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates his radio program. Limbaugh returned to Palm Beach, Florida on June 26 with Joel Surnow, "24"'s co-creator and executive producer and Howard Gordon, another of the Fox hit's executive producers (Hollywood agent Jeffrey Benson was also part of the Limbaugh quintet).

And some in GD were saying that since 24 is a fav show of Rush's they wouldn't watch the show.

22. That's like the "Hitler is a vegetarian" fallacy in logic
Hitler was a vegetarian, therefore vegetarianism is wrong.
