Ever know someone who could burn oatmeal?

Anyone have advice on ridding a house of thick, nasty smelling smoke when it too cold to just open the doors and windows?

1. No real advice but you have my sympathy

I've ruined more pots and pans - I'm the person who they coined the phrase "can't boil water without burning it" about. Yes, I've done that. More than once.

As for the smoke, I think you may have to bite the bullet, open the doors and turn on a fan. How's your smoke detector work, by the way? ;)

4. Boil some water with white vinegar in it.

Oatmeal is ten (10) minutes tops if you have steel cut oats. Set a freaking timer next time. Oh, and get yourself a real pot with a thick bottom; I reccomend Le Crueset.
