This is my mini-rant about skating dresses listed on eBay:

The most gorgeous ones best suited for competitions are in children's sizes only. When I look dress for my size (Adult Medium), I generally find only stuff that would make Hefty bags look glamorous! :grr:

Just to warn you: you probably won't be sewing skating dresses right out of the gate. Skating dresses are usually done w/ stretchy fabric, and you may want to learn some basics before you start getting into sewing that sort of stuff.
