I know they are Candian, but they play in my neck of the woods once a year...saw them opening for the Chieftains a few years ago and got hooked.
Their concerts here are always well attended but I never run into anyone who knows of them outside of those concerts!!!

They do put on a great show...saw them at Wolf Trap here (Virginia) a couple times, and once at a club downtown DC...

...as I just put on a live recording of them about two minutes ago. Pretty much my first exposure to them (other than Live 8), and I like what I hear.

But he's really big on bands that mix traditional Newfoundland/Irish music and pop music.
Haven't managed to get him into Flogging molly, sadly.
