Anyone else still have old pulp mags around...?
They weren't meant to last, of course, and about 99.999% must be dust in the wind... But Dad collected them, and I still have quite a few in surprisingly good shape--ie, you can *read* them... I have a slew of Doc Savages, including the one with John Sunlight and the Strange Blue Dome...incredibly cool...and about a dozen Unknowns, with the incredible Cartier illustrations...and many Golden Age Astoundings, including the legendary May 1942 issue, with the last episode of *Beyond This Horizon*, van Vogt's *Asylum*--and the first Foundation story. Also have one of the early Chandler Black Masks... Anyone else?

1. lots of "Galaxy"
sci-fi pulps from the early '50's. I've glanced at a few, then stashed them in a cabinet, hoping to return to them for reading and maybe art-scanning when I have more time (and a computer and scanner @home).

Are these old pulps worth anything? Not that I'm thinking of selling, just curious...

2. I'm no expert--but I'd guess 50s *Galaxy* are worth quite a bit...
...technically, the 50s SF mags are "digests", not "pulps"...the pulps were bigger, and printed on very cheap pulp paper. I have a whole lot of those 50s SF mags too...it's fun just to look at them... Those 1950s Galaxies are classics, most of the good work in the field then was printed in that mag. I certainly know that my Astoundings and Unknowns are worth a lot...
