My Own Private Idaho:

Every time I watch that movie, I can't help but wonder what River Phoenix would've done if he'd lived and continued on in films. I love that movie.

1. that's the only movie
I ever rented due to the fact that I couldn't believe how much I hated it in the theater. I thought maybe I missed something.

Nope... on second viewing, it sucked as much as I remembered it sucking.

3. Yep!
I was coerced into watching "the Lake House," last week. Ugh. UGH!
I should've known better. At least he's fairly consistent eye candy.

5. I will admit
that he was better in that movie than in "Bram Stoker's Dracula". But not much.

7. I was amazed at how good he was in that movie.
I briefly thought maybe he really could act. I've never seen another hint of that acting ability since.

6. Don't Worry Too Much

River was a tortured,"old" soul. My brother was a P.A. on "Running on Empty" and "Sneakers". He told me,it was "just a matter of time" for River.

When he "fades away" in "Stand By Me"? Very Eerie, indeed!

8. You kind of get that sense of him in the movie.
At least knowing how things ended for him, irl. Or perhaps that's just projection. I found him interesting, anyway.
