Am I the only person who has nothing to do with MySpace
I think I looked at it once and it seemed like a pedophile heaven with web pages that take forever to download.

I just can't see any reason behind MySpace - can someone explain what the deal is?

2. I have to admit I check TeenMidlo's space every once in a while.
That's how I found out that some of the older guys that were sniffing around this group of girls was drinking.

Otherwise, I have no idea what it is for.

It's a thing for kids, like teens and early 20s who are trying to show how popular they are. Once you mature and get past that stuff, you don't want to do anything like MySpace. IMHO>

Do you have a link?
Also, does the term "users" mean something besides people who have pages on the site? I'm not going to look through it but I sincerely doubt that half of the pages belong to people over 35.

47. Not trying to being an ass on this
but is that the REPORTED age or is there some other sampling done. My point being that there are some kids (and I have seen them because they are listed as friends of my daughter) who have their age on myspace listed as 99 or something ridiculous. Widespread occurrence of that would skew the stats.

This indicates people who visit the site, not people who have actual pages. I imagine a lot of visitors are parents checking on their kids.

62. Thanks for the article.
However, the sentence you quoted refers to"comScore" which is the earlier site that used "users" to mean "visitors." Earlier in this Money article, it says, "The users, the hardest core being teens and twentysomethings," That has been my experience - the persons who have a web page on MySpace and visit it frequently to check out who hit their page are teens and twentysomethings. You apparently enjoy MySpace. I'm happy for you but for some of us older folks, we're just not interested.

64. It's good for people like struggling musicians.
If you want potential worldwide exposure without paying for a web page, I can see how a MySpace page would be practical. The guitarist I'm currently jamming around with has his own page where he uploads some of the random stuff we play.

Other than that, it's garbage. I've seen the pages of some college friends of mine, and for the most part it's just a symptom of the need to feel important - like the Internet equivalent of cell phones or Hummers.

I don't have one, either. Don't know much about them. Don't really even know what they are, other than a social network thingy for teens.

Most of my college students have facebook pages. I know a little about facebook, because one of our students committed suicide last week, and a tribute page was set up for him at facebook. I took a peek at it. It was really nice.

I try out new music from artists I knew before and didn't, and add celebs and people that seem to have ok profiles to my friends. I have gotten a few friend requests from fake profiles with viruses - a real hazard there. But I've also gotten some requests from artists I didn't know about, like Brooke here, who is very pretty and talented:
