Update from angioplasty--AP bad, results are actually GOOD!

There was too much scar tissue in my arteries for them to proceed (I've had several stents already), but--the news is very, very good, surprisingly enough.

As my cardio calls it, "nature's own bypass surgery" took over--I've developed a very healthy assortment of collateral arteries to take over from my bad one! Same thing happened after my TIA last year--I'm exceptionally fortunate; no one is quite sure why some people are capable of this and others aren't. With the crappy hand I was dealt with 40 years of insulin dependence, though, I'll take every break I can manage.

Thank you for all the well-wishes, thoughts, vibes, prayers you offered--I can't tell you how good that makes a person feel to know that you all care. You'll have to deal with me for quite a while longer, apparently!

9. No--they still don't understand the process.

I'm just supremely fortunate somehow (I like to think it's nature's way of compensating me for being diabetic from age 7, but who knows?) :shrug:
