I just found out that my brand new granddaughter is in surgery even as I type. Any and all good thoughts, prayers, positive energy....she's so little.

I haven't had any news yet...just that she went in at 8 a.m. and that they expected the surgery to last up to four hours and then there'll be an hour of recovery time before they'll really know anything. At this point, no news is good news.

Update is that she's finally out of surgery. The 3-4 hour procedure ended up taking twelve hours but she's finally off the heart/lung machine and in recovery. She's still got a long way to go but it's a start. Keep those vibes comin'...

instead of the 3-4 that they were expecting. They were finally able to take her off the heart/lung machine and she's still got a way to go, but she's on her way.

She's got a quiet determination...she went into cardiac arrest yesterday after the first procedure and then, in the end, came through.

She's in critical but stable condition. The valve clotted yesterday and the shunt clogged and havoc ensued...but she got through it. They expect her to remain in critical condition through the early part of the week, until the swelling goes down and they can close her up.
