Anyone else had a grandchild and THEN had another child?
My grandson just turned 2 and here I am, on the road to having another child. How weird is that?

1. It's not weird. It's wonderful. I wish you a healthy pregnancy and
a beautiful healthy baby.

12. I'll feel a lot better once I get through the first trimester
And the heartbeat is still there... nice and strong. I say I had a miscarriage, but that's not entirely true. At 12 weeks, I went to the doc and the baby's heartbeat had just stopped. They gave me the weekend to see if I'd miscarry but, of course, I didn't. Off to the OR for a D&C.... gawd, that sucked.

Thanks for the good wishes. Now if only you could wish away the next 6 or 7 weeks :)

17. With BabyMidlo, who is now 10
I starting bleeding at exactly 12 weeks. Heavily. I was certain I was losing the baby, but they put me on bed rest and here she is.

The human body is an interesting thing, that's for sure.

2. All my Greatgrandmothers did it.
They all started young and had many children.

Congrats on the baby.

3. As a stepmom,
I came pretty close. My older stepson and his wife had their first baby when my youngest was 4.

4. No, but my son is only 1 year younger than my brother.
They grew up as great friends. My brother was actually best man at my son's wedding. It also opens up the opportunity for you and your daughter to share experiences on the same level. This actually worked out well with my mother and brought us even closer. You and daughter will be able to share parenting advice. Good luck to you.

It's unusual but I think pretty neat. Congrats!

I, on the other hand, had a hysterectomy the day after my first grandchild was born - my daughter and I checked into the hospital together. Busy couple of days!

11. I‘m My Own Granpa
Many many years ago when I was twenty three,
I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown-up daughter
Who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her,
And soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law
And changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother,
For she was my father's wife.

To complicate the matters worse,
Although it brought me joy,
I soon became the father
Of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became
A brother-in-law to dad.
And so became my uncle,
Though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle,
Then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter
Who, of course, was my step-mother.

Father's wife then had a son,
Who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandson,
For he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mother
And it makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife,
She's my grandmother too.

If my wife is my grandmother,
Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it,
It simply drives me wild.

For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother,
I am my own grandpa!

16. No, but I have a grandson who is.....
as my child. The mother completely disappeared from the scene when the little guy was a little over
1 year old. My son and grandson came here to live with grandpa and I about 3 years ago. I am the ole' gal in my grandson's life.

Fun ahead for you and daddy. It's not so bad; little ones bring tons of joy to a home.
