The "Shankill Butchers" were a group of Ulster Volunteer Force members in Belfast, Northern Ireland, who abducted Roman Catholics usually walking home from a night out, tortured and/or savagely beat them, and killed them, usually by cutting their throats. Most of their victims had no connection to the IRA or any other republican groups.

4. The Butchers were a bunch of sick bastards....

They used to savagely beat their victims in the back rooms of their clubs. They called them 'romper rooms'.

Their leader, Lenny Murphy, was gunned down in front of his girlfriend's house by a group of PIRA volunteers. The rest of the gang ended up in the Kesh. I think some of them are still alive and out of jail under the Good Friday Agreement.

been missing for 11 years, and the strong suspicion is that he was a victim of these scum. One on their favorite tactics besides using meat cleavers on their victims, was hanging them up by their arms from a pulley and letting them crash to the floor.....The sad part is, these guys were in collusion with the ruc and brit intell.....
