I have a serious addiction...........to this

I have to have one of these with me all the time. Does anyone else have an addiction to lip balm?

11. Yeah, that's me.
My friend got me hooked about ten years ago.

If I can't find one of those blue tubs, when I need a fix, I go into a frenzy looking for one. Some stores don't carry the "Lip Medex" brand, so when I'm in a store that carries it I buy up large quantities.

I think it's the cooling menthol.

3. Nope. I just smoke and drink and get my money's worth
I don't think lip balm would do anything for me.

4. I'm using that right now ...
yesterday I went to the pharmacy to see what if anything might be better for this nasty cold sore I have on my lower lip. The pharmacist pointed me in the direction of Abreva gads!! They wanted $15.95 for a tiny tube of it! I decided my blistex would have to do.

I've got a large coldsore and another smaller one just below it :(

7. Abreva works, and is worth the $15, but get your doctor to get you some Valtrex
It's also for genital herpes/HS II, but it zaps your cold sore away really quick.

15. On cold sores, the supplement L-Lysine really does work.

You can get it, and it's not expensive, at any drugstore.

Take 1500 mg twice a day when you notice you have a cold sore coming up. Sometimes it will turn them back altogether, and once in a while if it comes up anyway (a stubborn one), then it will cut it's severity by 75%. Not kidding.

You can get on a maintenance dose of 500 mg per day to keep them at bay altogether if you get them a lot.

:hi:

22. thanks .. I was just about
to place a vitamin and supp order at Vitacost, I've added L-Lysine to my list. It also promotes the absorption of Calcium which I need!

L-Lysine -- 500 mg - 100 Capsules for $4.39 not expensive at all!

thanks

10. I wish that I did
The other day, I woke up with blood on my lips. They had cracked as they have done a few other times this winter. I am trying to use lip balm more, but I often forget or think that a couple times per day should be good enough.

17. Oh Yes, That Stuff Is Bad
My allergist suggests that I use it if I get a sinus infection but no more than 3 days! Then follow it with steroid spray.

The thing is, that even within 3 days, my nose is getting stuffed up without it and it takes a day or so of being without it to be able to breathe.

The same is true for me of sudafed as well.

I will take it if I'm totally stuffed up, but it's a no win situation if the problem is allergies.

19. I have a jar of that at home.
When I am not home, I have to have some sort of chapstick in my pocket. My latest is the Burt's Bees lip balm.

Since high school, I have been addicted to the stuff. If I don't have it, my lips crumple up and fall off.

20. NO! I can't stand putting things on my lips. I would rather deal with dry lips.
Whenever I buy or get one of those lip medecines (blistex, etc), I use it once or twice and then forget about it.
