1. New or Classic?
I've been digging on getting one as well. Hopefully I can pick one up by springtime.

Check out this website- it's indespensible if you're a bug fanatic:

2. new but i do love the original ones.
2 of the dealers near me still have a few 5 speed 06' models left that are a pretty good deal and basically have all the same things as the 07' models but they're about $1500 less.

8. The body style doesn't change.
My 2003 is continually mistaken for a new one. Save yourself the money unless the '07 has something specific that you want.

9. the 06 would be just fine for me and it cost less, plus the dealers
want to be rid of them to make room for the 07 inventory.

3. Yes, millions do. I see them all over the place.
In fact, a huge segment of the cars in the US are made up of convertibles, coupes, and VW beetles.

Are you in a place that you don't see these cars?

4. From what I have heard,
they are surprisingly roomy inside, and fun to drive.

Accroding to edmunds, recent model years are decent, but older models are complete junk.

Good luck! :hi:

10. It always makes me smile.
It is a blast to drive--very fast with the Turbo. I'm in outside sales & I drive about 2000 miles a month. It's fun and much roomier that you would think. Very comfortable. Last June my 10-year-old son and I went on a week-long 1700 mile baseball road trip and it was great. We had plenty of room for luggage, pillows, souvenirs, etc. I drove the whole time (obviously) and I could not believe how comfortable it was. No aches or pains even though we averaged five hours a day on the road.

That first question is dangerous though. I'm too superstitious to answer questions like that. Let's just say that I have nothing to report and leave it at that. ;-)

That's all it took for me. But I warn you, I bought the first one I drove. They are that fun.
