I don't like my user name that much, but I didn't change it when we had a chance back during "DU1" ... I like having on my profile that I've been with DU since the early days and I'd lose that, I assume, if I reregistered under a different name.

Sigh. Just wondering. Anyone else here wish they could change their user names but keep their old stats?

3. I was away for a couple years. I came back,

re-registered with a new name and then found out my old identity was still here! I wanted to merge the two into one and keep my total post count. I was told they couldn't do that. So I just use this identity even though I have another with 240 or so posts.

I would think come election time they might allow name changes again since so many have names that are so specific to the current administration.

all these "Clark08" or whatever people might want to change their names. I didn't want a name that tied me to anything in particular - a candidate, or a beloved pet, or a state - I just wanted something neutral. Maybe that's what I should change to -- "Neutral" !
