a couple of old DU features

the buddy list and the journal.

I just doubled my buddy list in the last 24 hours, from 2 to 4. :woohoo:

Although I am not sure I should celebrate, because I am now their buddy. I do not know if they are mine.

To me, the coolest thing about the buddy list is when you hit "my DU" it shows not only "my posts" (which typically have all too few replies (except when I say something controversial, then there are scores of people berating me and chiding me) (look at all these parantheses, sheesh I write almost as badly as Nabakov))

Now, where was I? Oh yeah, "my DU" also shows the latest addition to the journals of my buddies. Since, of course, I have really cool buddies, this leads me to alot of posts/threads that I might not otherwise find on the front page of a forum.

Unfortunatly, two of my buddies, fully half of them, do not seem to have journals. :wtf:

Let's use these old features more than we use the new one.

I always look to see if people I have on my buddy list have additions to their journals etc.

I should read more journals. They're like the best of the best. It has bothered me though that unless they are live threads, you cannot comment on a journal post.

9. I could not get through Lolita

I just wanted to kick Humbert's a$$ rather than hear his story.

Then I tried Ava :wtf: and then a short story about a Russian princess. Talk about gloom. What was the point of that story? That life sucks? How nice to find out now, that I am trapped in it!! I guess I should not complain, since I once noted that seemed to be the theme of most of my poems, but I think I usually included something about making it better.
